What is VoiceCraft?

VoiceCraft is an AI-powered English language coaching application designed for French speakers at every level, from A1 beginner to C2 mastery. It listens to you speak, transcribes your words, coaches you through a conversation, and gives you detailed, personalised feedback on your grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and coherence — all in real time, with device-first state and cloud-assisted inference services.

VoiceCraft currently combines local browser and device storage with server-hosted runtime services for speech recognition, language coaching, and text-to-speech. Product and billing configuration are managed by VoiceCraft; end users do not need to bring their own API keys.

How it works

Your voice is captured by your microphone in the browser and sent through VoiceCraft's configured speech pipeline.
The transcript is processed by VoiceCraft's CEFR-aware coaching runtime using configured Mistral models.
The coach's response is streamed back in real time and can be read aloud by VoiceCraft's configured text-to-speech service.
After each turn, your grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and coherence are scored and your proficiency rating is updated using an ELO-based system across the six CEFR bands.

CEFR levels supported

VoiceCraft covers all six Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) levels: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, and C2. The coaching adapts to your current level automatically, using an ELO-based proficiency tracking system that updates after every conversation turn.

Conversation topics

20 topics across 8 domains — travel, business, culture, technology, health, debate, education, and personal growth. Each topic comes with target vocabulary, grammar focus points, and three conversation starters.
